DAY 01
(THE DAY PRIOR)
It’s quite rare these days to not be part of 3 day coverage for a destination wedding and such was the case here at Holly & Henrik’s wedding at the very elegant Chateau la Durantie in the departement of Dordogne approximately 50km from the city of Limoges.
This one kicked off with a welcome party based around pizza (cooked and served from an old vintage van) with wines and Aperol (poured and served from an old vintage caravan) with a couple of speeches, one from the bride and one from a friend to kick off proceedings at this Scottish (bride) and Norwegian (groom) wedding in South West France.
DAY 02
(WEDDING DAY)
As has been the case with so many weddings this Summer, the forecast was one that could go either way though was probably going to be in our favour.
Fortunately it was and with outdoor ‘everything’ except dancing, a good thing!
Hair was by a friend and Holly did her own makeup plus the ceremony was conducted by Henrik’s father so so far, no suppliers to mention in regard to these areas but I can mention that flowers were by Marylène Louis Maison Montagnac.
Overseeing the day in a coordinating role however was Karen from Perfect Day.
Catering was supplied by Les Pradines with evening DJ’s Alliance Animation.
Other music by Fraser (bagpipes) and Phil Saxman (sax), either a very convenient surname or his professional name…

DAY 03
(POOL PARTY)
OK, we got some rain. Fortunately it was light and not constant so did not stop play for the poolside disco-themed BBQ accompanied by live sax by Phil Saxman again who played at last nights party.
Truly a first class wedding from start to finish, even if I walked into an enormous tent peg during speeches and could not walk properly for the next 2 weeks!
And yes, the groom is eating a McDonald’s right before the BBQ!
