DAY 01 - THE DAY PRIOR

This was my first visit to Chateau Gassies just far enough outside of Bordeaux to be ‘rural’, but close enough for the amenities of a big city. I was looking forward to it and the place did not disappoint. And nor did Charly & Tom’s 3 day wedding!

Day 01 kicked things off with a Welcome Party complete with pizza food truck. Having something like this on-site rather than attempting something at a restaurant is so much easier and has so much more atmosphere. Plus photo & video opps because pizza as a food choice, becomes pizza as art; the vehicle, the BTS prep, the delivery and service. This service was provided by Christophe at Le Rialto.

Live music by London based singer X (I need to check with Charly & Tom her name as I forgot to ask!) added another element to the atmosphere at this event.

DAY 02 - WEDDING DAY

And so on to the wedding day. Before this season began, I would have said that you would be way off if you suggested that all bar 3 wedding days this year would forecast rain. But that is exactly what I got this year. More wet weather forecasts than the previous 7 years I have lived in France, combined!

Less than 50% had any rain at all and this one after a bit of a cloudy start, was super sunny and very welcome!

Floristry by Artmania Fleur, ceremony by Cherry at Bride Buddy, catering by Le Nectar with music by Mixology were some other notable mentions.

DAY 03 - BBQ

And to conclude, BBQ and pool party but it was a little cool and grey, but at least no rain!
