THANKS
I’m not much of one for seeking the limelight, or compliments or even thanks.
It’s certainly not expected, but always appreciate when a client takes the time to make their feelings known after their wedding.
This is the most recent one courtesy of Claire & Rik after their wedding in South West France planned by Nicole Tournois at Petillante.

Where does one start when reviewing a photographer? Surely their portfolio speaks for themselves, true, but it’s not quite the whole story, especially when the photographer in question needs to be both an integral part of an incredibly special event and remain in the background.
Enter Simon and Firehorse. Simon came highly recommended by our incredible wedding planner Nicole Tournois. Simon’s website and portfolio were exquisite, there was no doubting his photographic talent and Nicole assured us that we would love having him at our event.
Our wedding celebration was to take place over three days at Chateau de la Valouze just outside Bordeaux in France and we really wanted Simon to capture the spirit of all three days. We had initial contact with Simon over email, a brief survey to get some basic details and to ensure that he knew who our contact points were over the day. This was wonderfully painless and served the purpose of ensuring when we finally met Simon at the start of our celebration he was well prepped for who was who, the roles and responsibilities and how he could get all of the casual photographs we desired along with the all important portraits.
Simon blended in seamlessly, I find it really difficult to state just how low impact he is while working, yes I saw and spoke to him occasionally, but he is very much the chameleon. The photographs he captured of our ceremony in particular feel impossible, he’s one man; how did he cover all of those angles all at the same time while remaining invisible! To say we were delighted with the outcome is a massive understatement.
On to the formal photographs, I think this is the part of a wedding that no matter what will always feel somewhat forced. Not with Simon, yes it’s orchestrated, but it’s not pushed. Our guests had plenty of time to mingle and share some drinks before being pulled away for 10 minutes and gently returned. Then a real highlight, watching Simon work, waiting for the light to get exactly the right moment for us to have some truly delightful moments captured of our special day. Simon is a true professional of the craft with an eye for detail and an ability to capture the spirit of an event.
Simon kept in contact after the event and we have a beautiful “coffee table’ portfolio of our day as a keepsake. We’re truly grateful that we had the opportunity to book Simon and Firehorse photography, he’s a real gem.

Aww… as above, I’m not really a fan of blowing my own trumpet and I am regularly told I sometimes sell myself short, but I’m just not a fan of making a huge amount of noise. I appreciate it when couples make an effort like this.
