EMILY & ALEXIS - CHATEAU DU PORDOR
DAY 01 - THE GATHERING
‘The Coincidence’ first… This was my second visit to Chateau du Pordor for a wedding and on both occasions, each of the principle persons came from a different country, but both couples live in Edinburgh! My first visit was with Aurelija & Marius from Lithuania and Romania respectively, and for this one, Emily from the USA and Alexis from France. No green wedding dress this time however!
So Day 01 - The Gathering. It’s how most of these events begin, but actually prior to The Gathering, there was the ceremony rehearsal over in the woods by the lake. It is one of the most idyllic settings for ceremony that I have been to in my 850+ weddings attended to date and one of many highlights of this fabulous venue.
The evening (and wedding day) catering was provided for the guests, primarily from; the US, France and Scotland, by Edouard Set.
DAY 02 - WEDDING DAY
On the wedding day itself, unlike our practise shoot earlier this year in Paris in the Spring, there was something of a heatwave going on in France, but in this instance with a pleasant breeze to take some of the most extreme heat out of the day.
As mentioned in Part 01, this was my second wedding at Chateau du Pordor and it has very quickly become my favourite venue for a wedding in North West France during to not just the building and grounds, but the folks that own and run the place. It has a very welcome and special feel to the place.
Hair & Makeup for Emily was provided by Eugenie Grandhomme with coordination throughout the day by Joanna of Joyze Wedding Planning.
Floristry and design was by Little Garden of Avessac and were just stunning including the ceremony area and the dining salon.
The ceremony was conducted by two of the couples friends, Kevin & Harvey with music by another friend, Lydia Bennett with evening DJ set by Malrow Music.
Just a fabulous weekend for this lovely couple at this special place and the pictures can tell the story better than my words!
